The Greek Creative Nest
The Greek Creative Nest, one of the 7 Creative Nests created in 6 countries as parts of the SMATH project, consists of 14 teams, 14 innovative ideas, start-ups and businesses active in the fields of Creative and Cultural Industries.
In a 3-month Business Accelerator program provided by INNOVATHENS powered by Samsung, these teams, artists, entrepreneurs and professionals evolve their ideas, interact, collaborate, exchange views, know-how and good practices, through workshops, seminars, working labs, study visits in cultural heritage sites, and together they design new projects, products and services.

1. 360° Points of View
360° Points of View was founded at the end of 2019 aiming to provide high level services of promotion and advertising by using innovative technologies and, mainly, 3D technology. The future of information, promotion and advertising products and physical spaces lies in the combination of 3D and Internet technologies. In October 2019, the company presented to the Greek market the “3D virtual tour” of spaces. The implementations of the “3D virtual tour” are limitless and it applies in main sectors of economy such as tourism, commerce, industry, arts and civilization. The aim of 360° Points of View is to present to the Greek market the latest technological developments and offer to its partners unique promotion techniques so that they differentiate their brands from the competition.
2. ART in HOTEL
ART in HOTEL has the vision to connect art with hotels by creating a network of tourism-civilization as well as cultural experiences for the visitors. In order to achieve its aim, ART in HOTEL uses tools such as alternating arts exhibitions, Greek and international networking, a digital platform, signs, the marketing box, counseling services and products (digital or not) for hotels and artists. It intends to offer visitors cultural experiences, to upgrade services qualitatively, to improve hotels’ (of all categories) economic output, to enrich and upgrade cultural interventions and open up to new markets for artists.
Caravan Creative Lab is an arts and culture platform that aims to artistically form spaces. It’s a caravan that moves from place to place aiming to research the different cultural characteristics that each place presents and then upgrade them through artistic interventions. CCL aspires to be the driving force for artistic creation and spaces’ reformation with history and personality. At the same time, it aims to showcase artists and artistic groups by presenting group exhibitions and hosting music events, theatrical plays and performances. CCL asks from collaborating artists to create a visual artwork inspired by the host space.
4. Creators of Cosmos S.M.P.C
Creators of Cosmos S.M.P.C. is the first Greek company that designs and produces scripts for Live Action Role Playing Games. The company uses these scripts in four axes of business activities: Tourism – Creative Industries – Gaming – Knowledge Economy. The games produced may be used in five categories of services and products: as destination management tools, for lifelong learning, for professional capacity building, to tackle social exclusion, as well as for research and development of new products and services.
5. MAST DESIGN
Mast design is a start-up company that aspires to promote each region’s cultural heritage through the art of design. Collaborating with professionals from human studies and designers, Mast Design attempts to provide products and services, as they will emerge from field participatory research of ethnological groups. Until today, the company works on designing souvenirs, such as scarves, tote-bags, cushions etc. that derive from folkloric research aiming to showcase the most important traits of each focus group as well as the elements of their material and immaterial civilization.
6. Part Education
Part Education provides an alternative, immersive English education. Sessions are run to individuals and in educational institutions. The sessions are fun and engaging projects based on the STEAM subjects (science, technology, engineering, arts and math). Participants are given a topic and they investigate, ask questions and create. The sessions encourage 21st century/innovative skills, including creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication. These skills are important for young people as it gives skills for lifelong learning and helps to meet the requirements of higher education and employers. Also, English immersion has been found to lead to native-like processing and acquisition of language.
The artistic collective ReCompulsiveBehaviours was founded in 2016 in Athens. Combining art, activism, education and research it aims to achieve social equality, inclusion and the restoration of collectivity. ReCompulsiveBehaviours attempts to form a world where the artistic practice is in accordance with the sociopolitical behaviour and art becomes the tool that encourages practices pertaining to community and institutional changes. ReCompulsiveBehaviours’ interest lies in the collective dimension of the social experience and the political dimension of collectivity. For this reason, their work is presented in public space and in locations freely accessible for everyone
Script-Up gives scriptwriters the opportunity to promote for free print material of their copyright and detailed synopses of completed scripts for films, series, theatrical plays, books and videogames. The readers’ evaluation/review will be the first feedback for producers/publishers that are in search of new ideas and if the script is likeable by the audience they’d ask to read the complete version and then produce/publish it. Scipt-Up aims to enter the market of films, series, books, videogames, theatrical plays and anything that has script in its core.
TheHappyAct is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2015 and focuses in creating solutions of accessibility for people on the autism spectrum. A 5% of the greek population is directly and indirectly influenced by autism. The incompatibility of spaces and services makes the accessibility to cultural and other everyday activities difficult. TheHappyArt creates all appropriate circumstances so that people on the autism spectrum enjoy easily going at the cinema or at the theatre, visiting a museum, shopping and other activities.
10. AEGEE – Athina
AEGEE-Athina was founded in 1986 and acts as an independent local antenna of AEGEE-Europe. The organization operates in organizing european programs with cultural and educational impact through the existing scheme of european programs and other private fundings.
Unspoiled Greece is an events and tour planning company specializing in creating custom made experiences inspired by the Greek civilization. Clients have the possibility to experience different aspects of the Greek agriculture, outdoor recreation, traditional arts and the diachronic culture.
PlaceMe is a mobile app through which brands and creators belonging to furniture industry, decoration, design and architecture sectors can show their products and/or their spaces by using technologies such as Augmented Reality, virtual walkthroughs, 3D modelling and game mechanics.
Liminal creates an opportunity for everyone to be in touch with the contemporary cultural creation regardless any physical or any other kind characteristic. It provides services of inclusive art education, accessibility and production of cultural events. The educational activity expands in two directions, educating mixed groups mainly in the sector of performative arts and educating professional tutors and audiovisual translation professionals.
14. Creative- InteractiveConceptStore
A dynamic Concept Store in Astypalaia is about to become an interactive meeting point of traditional and contemporary, old and new elements like a hidden treasure that someone can find in the innovative creations of talented Greek designers and get inspired. The store is an old Astypalaian house located in the traditional settlement of the island’s Chora and it is currently being renovated in order to be more connected with the place’s historicity and its tradition. The idea comprises the creation of a space with small different corners of commodities and stimuli that will approach different categories of contemporary creation, sustainable lifestyle and wellness.
